my learning philosophy
This is why i learn:
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”
― Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!
and:
I learn because I love discovering new things, and filling my brain with wonderful ideas.
Learning is important to me. I'm a person who loves to learn new things. But usually in order to learn efficiently, I need to be motivated, believe in myself, be organised, and know how to balance work and play.
If I'm not motivated to do something, I will most likely procrastinate on that subject or not do my very best. If I feel no reward in what I'm doing and see no clear reason why it will benefit me in the future, then I usually won't give it my all. I believe motivation and knowing the reason why your learning something is very important.
When I once had a really hard time writing a presentation for school once, I almost completely gave up on myself, telling myself repetivly that I couldn't finish it on time. But my family and friends helped me by saying I could do it, and that encouragement and belief in myself helped me and I was able to overcome something I thought I couldn't. Believing in yourself is, I think, very important when your trying to learn something new. Because if you don't think your good enough or you can't accomplish something, then you'll never try, and you'll never learn.
I use to be a very orginized person when I was younger. But now that I started high school, I'm not able to use my time wisely. Usually if I have a plan of what i need to do and in what time frame, then i can get things done ASAP. Most of the time, all the homework I need to do Isn't as much as a make myself believe. it's just that all I know is that I have a lot of homework, but I haven't orginized my thoughts to see exactly how much stuff needs to be done. I believe it's important to be somewhat organized if it helps you be more efficient in school, and in life, as It does for me.
I like watching TV and youtube videos as a pass time and to help me unwind. But with homework, I usually don't have time to do any of that. But I believe it's important to have a balance between how much work you do, and how much time you spend doing things for fun. Because If you spend all your time doing things that are tying and don't make you happy, then you won't be as likely to do a good job at whatever you do. But if you spend all your time playing, then you won't get any work done. So it's a fine balance.
